Driver & Liability Terms
Version 2026-08-04.2 · These terms apply to everyone who carries deliveries through Moveo and form part of the Terms of Service.
1. You are an independent contractor
You provide transport services in your own name, on your own account and at your own risk. Nothing in these terms creates an employment relationship, agency, partnership or joint venture with Moveo. You decide which jobs to accept, when to work and which route to take, and you may work for other platforms or clients at the same time.
You are responsible for your own business registration where required, your income tax, VAT, pension and social security contributions, and for any bookkeeping obligations that apply to you.
2. Verification you must complete and keep valid
- Government-issued photo identity document.
- Valid driving licence for the vehicle class you use.
- Background check document where we request one.
- Vehicle documents: registration and valid insurance.
Documents must be genuine, legible, in date and belong to you. Submitting altered, borrowed or fabricated documents is fraud: the account is closed permanently and any pending payout may be withheld pending investigation. If a document expires or your licence is suspended, you must stop accepting jobs and update your profile immediately.
3. Insurance is your responsibility
- You must hold valid, in-force motor insurance for the vehicle you use for every delivery.
- Carrying goods belonging to other people for payment often requires a specific policy, extension or endorsement. Confirm with your insurer that your cover permits it before you accept your first job.
- Moveo provides no vehicle, goods-in-transit, health, accident or liability insurance, and is not an insurance intermediary.
- If your insurer refuses a claim because you were carrying paid cargo without the right cover, that shortfall is yours, not Moveo's or the sender's.
4. Custody, care and your responsibility for damage
Custody starts when you take possession of the parcel and ends when you hand it to the recipient. During that time you must:
- Check the parcel and photograph its condition at pickup and at drop-off.
- Secure it so it cannot move, tip, get wet or be crushed during the journey.
- Never leave it unattended in an unlocked or visible position.
- Never open, use, copy or share the contents.
- Deliver only to the agreed address and recipient, and keep proof of delivery.
- Report any incident through the app the same day it happens.
You are liable to the sender for loss of, damage to, theft of or unreasonable delay of a parcel in your custody, and for damage you cause to property or to third parties while performing a delivery. Where a dispute is decided against you, Moveo may withhold the payout for that delivery, reverse a payout already made, refund the sender in whole or in part, and recover any remaining shortfall from you. Compensation follows the limits in section 9 of the Terms of Service (documented replacement value, capped at the declared value and at EUR 500 per delivery unless extra cover was purchased).
4b. Mandatory live location tracking
Live location sharing is a condition of accepting any job. When you accept a delivery you confirm that you will share your device's GPS position continuously from acceptance until the delivery is completed or cancelled. The sender, Moveo and Moveo support staff can see your position for that delivery only, and only while it is active. Positions are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with third parties.
- Keep location permission granted, precise/GPS mode on and your device charged.
- Keep the delivery page open on the device you are travelling with.
- Restore sharing immediately if it drops, and report any device failure in the app.
You are responsible for keeping the signal live. If your position is unavailable, Moveo may treat the delivery as not performed as agreed: status updates and proof of pickup or delivery can be blocked, payout release can be paused, and a missing or interrupted signal will be recorded in the delivery's audit log and may be decided against you in a dispute. Repeated or deliberate interruption of tracking — including disabling permissions, spoofing location or using a device other than the one carrying the parcel — is grounds for immediate suspension of your driver account.
5. Safety and the law on the road
Obey all traffic laws, driving-time rules and load limits. Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and never handle the app while driving. Fines, penalties, towing and parking charges are yours. You must not sub-contract a job or let anyone else carry a parcel you accepted.
6. Prohibited cargo
You must refuse and report any parcel you believe contains something on the prohibited list in section 6 of the Terms of Service, or that is clearly mis-declared, unsafe or heavier or larger than the class booked. Refusing such a job is never held against your rating.
7. Payment, the 70/30 split and payouts
- You receive 70% of the delivery price; Moveo's commission is 30%. Both are shown before you accept a job.
- Payment is collected from the sender up front and held by our payment provider. Your share is transferred to your connected payout account after the delivery is completed and confirmed.
- You must complete the payment provider's identity checks before any transfer can be made. Bank arrival times are controlled by the payment provider, not by Moveo.
- Taking cash or off-platform payment for a Moveo job, or asking a sender to cancel and pay you directly, is grounds for immediate removal.
8. Personal data you see
Addresses, names and phone numbers are shared with you only to complete the delivery. Use them for nothing else, do not store or share them, and delete any local copies once the job is done. Contacting a sender or recipient after delivery for unrelated reasons is a breach of these terms and of data protection law.
9. Ratings, conduct and suspension
Be punctual, polite and honest. Harassment, discrimination, threats, theft and repeated no-shows lead to immediate suspension. We may also suspend an account while we investigate a serious dispute, and withhold the affected payout until the case is closed.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Moveo against claims, losses, fines and reasonable costs arising from your deliveries where they result from your breach of these terms, your negligence, your lack of valid insurance or licences, or your unlawful conduct. This does not apply to losses caused by Moveo's own intent or gross negligence, and does not affect rights that mandatory law gives you.
These terms are app-owner content and are not legal advice. Questions: legal@moveodelivery.com.
